Rainy Days

Sometimes in life, life will show you how to look at things by giving you things to look at.  When you look at things you ask questions and naturally in thought you answer those questions.  Question is, what questions are you answering?  What is it you are looking at?  You may be shown one thing but naturally you look at what you choose to.  You pay attention to what you want to.  Magicians have mastered the art of how to influence what a person may look at, and for it they perform simple tricks that seem impossible or masterfully skillful at worst.
I sit and think and compare what may seem like down times in a persons life to a rainy day.  There are many different levels of rainy days.  You can have scattered showers, drizzles, a full day of moderate or hard rain.  You can also have days of rain, hurricanes, weeks of rain or even sun-showers.  One thing consistent is, rain will fall everywhere, some places more than others; and another constant is, the rain will always pass.  Hurricanes can destroy a village, but on most occurrences rain can and always will promote growth.  When I was young I always heard April showers bring may flowers; although in 2012 it doesn’t seem to hold so true, there will be a season or a time of rain before spring really blossoms and we can enjoy the fruit that the next season has to offer.
Spring is the season that follows winter, the coldest time of the year, the most baron, the most lifeless.  Days are shorter, and the Sun is not around as long to feed us with the natural resources the sun has to offer.  Before we can enjoy extended days we go through a period of rain.  Sometimes the winter can be depressing, and to feel the optimism of the spring that is coming rain can dampen your spirits from the joy of what is coming.
But, I ask again when life shows you things what is it you look at?  Do you pay attention to the illusion.  The illusion may seem like a distraction offered by someone or something else, rather than what we simply choose to pay attention to.
Say on a rainy day we have no choice but to stay inside.  I would say most people will normally sit in the window and wait for the rain to pass.  Some will watch the rain and wait, some will complain that it is raining.  How many will after they see its raining choose to look inside there homes?  How many will look in the house to see what can be done in the house to improve the house?  How many will enjoy the time of cleaning or redecorating the house?  Ever deep clean your house and find things you thought were lost for sometime and you become ecstatic when you find them?  How refreshing is it when you cleaned up and cleared out things that you have been waiting to clean up and clear out.  While you may sometime be down and focused on the fact that it is raining, learn to focus on the fact that life may be showing you its time to look inside and this is the best time to clean up, clear out and reset similar to the seasons.  After a cold winter it rains before you can enjoy longer days, extended sunshine and blossoming nature.
Embrace the struggle.

Enjoy the Journey
