Express Yourself

“Be You that’s how you Be-you-ti-full” – J Cole

Why are we so beautiful?  As humans we find ourselves to be in a class of being superior to all others.  Why?  I find myself coming up with a few answers.

On earth we find ourselves amongst many other species and living beings, among many other beautiful objects, jewels and gems.  What makes us different?  The answer I choose to focus on is Expression.  A huge part of what makes us so beautiful is expression.  The way we individually express ourselves makes us unique and beautiful.

The artist admires the writer, the writer admires the architect, the architect admires the musician and the list goes on.  We all admire qualities in others we either wish we had or enjoy to watch.  The artist is admired for the way they can create, recreate, or contort reality into a still frame that can be viewed and interpreted in thousand ways.  The writer is admired for the way they used words to depict a scene or express their emotion.  The architect creates and builds monumental figures that are enjoyed and used by many for countless reasons.

I often spend time alone and watch and admire my surroundings.  Today, I found myself helping someone who was both mentally and physically challenged.  What I noticed when interacting with the individual was they did not lack comprehension, but they lacked the skills to express themselves in a way for the general population to understand.  This same principle we find in babies and even ourselves at times.

There is nothing more gratifying than when you find the way to express yourself in the best way you can in a moment.  This is why it feels good when we create something and those around you receive it positively.  The same feeling translates to an audience; they have a beautiful experience in watching because to watch someone express him or herself honestly, openly and creatively is a moment that is priceless and truly beautiful.

  1. Spoken from your soul, flowed freely from your fingertips to share with the world. Expression in one of its finest mediums. Keep it up. I thoroughly enjoyed this post.

  2. Hey man, good blog. It’s important to have a place where you can express yourself and not feel judged. It’s nice to hope that maybe someone is reading your stuff, and someone recognizes your thoughts.

I recognize your thoughts, dude. ANd theyu’re really good.
