Fair Does Not Exist

That’s not fair!  An expression I hear often from people both youth and adults.  Funny I only hear it when things do not happen in the way desired by the person making the statement.  I never hear it when things happen inexplicably in the favor of those same people.

Fair is an illusion fed to us from the time we are young; a concept that leads us to believe that everyone is entitled to the same treatment or consequence.  The first hierarchies any one of us deal with (our families) confirm, not only that concept of fair does not exist, but it’s a concept we do not want.  We are all selfish.  We welcome preferential treatment. We love to be held accountable for who we are.

I ask, if two older women need a seat and there is only one available (the seat you must submit) and one of those women is your mother who will get the seat?  I am sure your mother gets the seat and the other woman at best will receive a heartfelt apology.  We do not question the other woman’s health condition or even care to ask.  Is that fair?

Who do we listen to?  We often listen to the inferior minded individuals who are not living their highest standard, but want the treatment of those who are.  We follow and listen to the majority who choose to fit in and we ridicule and punish those who stand out.  The concept of “fair” allows punishment not only to be acceptable but wanted.

That is the result of knowing not, who we listen to.  We praise, worship and follow stand outs who never received “fair” treatment due to charisma, beauty or skill, but when they are our peers stand outs are often condemned or ridiculed.

Fair does not exist, love first, accept, and then evaluate and oh yea… Be Fair and do the same for yourself!
